Ikigai Portfolio allows all person(s) to surf / explore, make financial contributions or contributions in kind on the Website without registering on the Website. Making any such contributions/donations on the website with or without registering as a member is the discretion of the User. However, on making any contributions/donations on the website without registration, the User agrees to not receive such services or information from Ikigai Portfolio as they may have received on registering on the website, due to their contact and communication details not being on record with Ikigai Portfolio. The term we, us, our shall mean Ikigai Portfolio and the term “you” and “your” referred to herein shall deem to mean the User. |
Use and access to the website constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions as at the date of the first use of the website. If these Terms and Conditions are not accepted in full, the use of the website must be terminated immediately. Ikigai Portfolio may require that the User agrees to additional terms and conditions as part of any registration process and/or for particular service/product offerings, which would be made available by Ikigai Portfolio from time to time. Ikigai Portfolio is a facilitator and service provider and the Website merely provides platform services which can be utilised by Users (being Donors / Contributors and Crowdfunding/NGO Partners) and persons browsing / visiting the Website to reach a larger base of people, organisations and causes. Ikigai Portfolio is only providing a platform for communication and it is agreed that the transactions whether gratuitous or otherwise shall always be bipartite between the Donor / Contributor and the Crowdfunding partner/NGO Partner. The Website is a platform that Donors utilise to meet and interact with various Crowdfunding Partners/NGO Partners and the representatives of several non-profit organisations in India. Based on the representations of the social cause supported by such Non Profit Organisations in India, Donors enter into transactions for making contributions or sharing information. All information provided about the projects/initiatives/interventions, is that which is provided by the respective Crowdfunding Partner/NGO Partner initiating the project/initiative/intervention for the social cause in India for which/on behalf of whom the project/initiative/intervention has been started to raise funds. It is hereby clarified that at no time shall Ikigai Portfolio hold any right, title or interest over the funds or rewards (except to the extent as stated herein) or have any obligations or liabilities to provide the same to the Donor / contributor.
Use of the Website is available only to persons who can form legally binding contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Persons who are incompetent to contract within the meaning of the Indian Contract Act, 1872 including minors, un-discharged insolvents, etc., are not eligible to use the Website. If you are a minor i.e. under the age of 18 years, you shall not register as a member on Ikigai Portfolio and shall not transact directly (either contribute or receive donations / contributions) or use the Website. As a minor if you wish to use or transact on the Website, such use or transaction may be made by your legal guardian, parents or through an organisation / NGO competent to contract on the Website on your behalf. Ikigai Portfolio reserves the right to terminate your membership and / or refuse to provide you with access to the Website if it is brought to Ikigai Portfolios notice or if it is discovered that you are under the age of 18 years. Organisational Crowdfunding Partner/ NGO Partner/ Legal Persons Registration: If you are registering as an Organisation / Entity or generally as a Legal Person, not being a natural person, you represent that you are duly authorised by the Organisation / Entity Management to accept these Terms of Use and you have the authority to bind the Organisation / Entity to these Terms of Use.

Users agree to notify Ikigai Portfolio immediately if they suspect any unauthorised access or use of their account or any other breach of security. Users are solely responsible for any and all use of their account. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under their account. Ikigai Portfolio cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from any Users’ failure to comply with this section.
Users agree to act in a responsible and legal manner when using the Ikigai Portfolio Services. Users shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations and rules and undertake not to use the services for any unlawful purpose, for the commission of any offence or crime under the laws of any jurisdiction to which access is obtained through the Website or in a manner which is likely to cause harm, offence or nuisance to any other internet user.

Ikigai Portfolio reserves the right to remove any such communication or material from the website at its own discretion.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under their account.
Donations on Ikigai Portfolio can be made by members as well as non-members by clicking on the Donate buttons available throughout the platform and following the necessary steps.
Users can donate to selected beneficiaries/NGO partners on Ikigai Portfolio using a number of payment methods such as credit / debit cards, UPI, net-banking and e-wallets. Donations are processed by Razorpay which is one of the largest and secure payment gateways in India.
All donations made through Ikigai Portfolio are non-refundable. Please contact our customer services at contact@ikigaiportfolio.com immediately if there are extenuating circumstances and your case may be reviewed at the sole discretion of Ikigai Portfolio.
In circumstances where a donation has been made on this website by the unauthorised use of a User’s payment details, then Ikigai Portfolio is required to refund the User such money provided that the User informs their financial institution and Ikigai Portfolio of the unauthorised payment as soon as possible.
The minimum amount that a User can donate through the Ikigai Portfolio platform is INR 500.
All donations made by Users on the Ikigai Portfolio Platform go directly to the bank account of the NGO partner/beneficiary that was selected by the User for making the donation.
There are various charges incurred when a User makes a donation - including charges by credit card companies, banks and payment service providers. These charges vary depending on many factors including User location, payment method and donation size and currency. These charges, in addition to applicable taxes, are borne by the User making the donation and are over and above the donation amount and paid directly to the payment service provider and/or the payment gateway.
Ikigai Portfolio also charges the Users a nominal fee as a percentage of the donation amount as Ikigai Portfolio Management Charges (IPMC). This is over and above the donation amount and it is charges to cover the cost of services provided by Ikigai Portfolio to its Users making the donation, like reporting on usage, utilisation and impact created by the donation, providing data, information and analytics on NGOs and various social causes and themes, organising events and maintenance of digital platforms etc.
Users acknowledge that any tax exemptions, if and as applicable, will be applicable only on the donation amount and not on the payment processing charges or on the IPMC.
Ikigai Portfolio also charges a fundraising/fund mobilisation fee to its NGO partners as a percentage of donation funds mobilised for them.
The User will receive an online confirmation from the Payment gateway immediately after they make their donation which shall be considered as the receipt for that donation. Users must keep it for their records. The implications from a tax perspective of donating to a non-profit will vary from country to country, and donors should consult the relevant authorities in their own jurisdiction for guidance on these matters. The NGO partner that the User has chosen to make the donation to will be accountable for providing any documentation/ certificate of tax exemption, wherever applicable. Ikigai Portfolio, on receipt of such documentation/certificate from the NGO, will make available the soft copy of the same, in a printable and downloadable format, in the User’s dashboard, provided the User has signed up on the Ikigai Portfolio Platform.
Users hereby acknowledge that Ikigai Portfolio has no control over the use of donations that are made to non-profits through this platform. While Ikigai Portfolio will make every effort to ensure that the non-profits use the donations only for the purpose for which they were made, Ikigai Portfolio cannot be held liable for the same.
Ikigai Portfolio has the sole discretion to enlist/delist non-profit organisations in its provision of this facility. It reserves the right at any time from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently the donation facility with or without notice. Users agree that Ikigai Portfolio shall not be liable to them or any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuation of the facility.
Donations made to a non-profit organisation will be given to that non-profit organisation only and no substitution of donations between non-profit organisations shall be permitted.
While availing any of the payment / donation / contribution method/s available on the Website, Ikigai Portfolio will not be responsible or assume any liability, whatsoever in respect of any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly to Users due to:
Ikigai Portfolio is not responsible for any dissatisfaction that Users may have regarding the recipient organisation’s use of any donation they may make through the platform or its associated services or websites powered by Ikigai Portfolio. Please note that the recipient organisation reserves the right to use donations received from Users for its general purposes and Ikigai Portfolio cannot guarantee that funds will be earmarked for a particular social cause/theme/activity, unless specifically stated by the recipient organisation itself. Ikigai Portfolio will, through its agreement with its NGO partners, try to ensure that donations mobilised for the NGO partners through this platform are used solely for the purpose for which the donations were made. Ikigai Portfolio cannot however be held liable for any breach of the agreement by the NGO partners or for enforcing the same.
Donations can be made anonymously by choosing the appropriate option while making the donation. The donor will still receive a receipt for his/her donation with the right name on the receipt but this will not be visible to others. If a donor donates anonymously, information about the donor can still be passed to non-profits. The donor is agreeing that their information may be used by the benefiting nonprofits so long as it complies with the relevant data protection legislation.
Indian donors can make tax-deductible donations on the Ikigai Portfolio Platform by donating to eligible NGOs. Whether a donation to a particular NGO is eligible for tax exemption will be clearly marked next to the NGOs in the website, where the NGO is listed. Eligible non-profits provide a receipt for all successfully processed donations on Ikigai Portfolio. These receipts contain a Unique Reference Number that can be verified by Ikigai Portfolio and are provided to donors as evidence of their donation. Users acknowledge that the NGO partner that the User has chosen to make the donation to will be accountable for providing any documentation/ certificate of tax exemption, wherever applicable. Ikigai Portfolio, on receipt of such documentation/certificate from the NGO, will make available the soft copy of the same, in a printable and downloadable format, in the User’s dashboard, provided the User has signed up on the Ikigai Portfolio Platform.
At present, only the donations made to Indian non-profits can receive tax benefits. Users must provide their PAN to ensure that they get tax benefits for their donations.
The Donor agrees and declares that the Donor is aware that Ikigai Portfolio has no responsibility to verify the accuracy of any statement and/or information furnished by the Crowdfunding Partner/ NGO Partner pursuant to which the Donor has donated moneys(s) to any not for profit via Ikigai Portfolio on the Website.
The donor will be sent timely updates about the progress/status of the fund utilisation and impact created through the donation from both the not for profit and Ikigai Portfolio via SMS/Whatsapp and/or email. In case one wants to opt out of this service, they need to log into their Ikigai Portfolio profile and disable the communications for the same.
Through the Website, Donors may obtain access to certain information about the not for profit, including means of direct communication. Nothing in these terms shall be viewed as Ikigai Portfolio certifying that the information provided is unqualified, error-free, exhaustive and/ or warranted by Ikigai Portfolio. The Website affords Donors an opportunity to ask not for profits questions concerning the organisation or donations sought/fundraisers and otherwise test the soundness of any not for profit or its activities/interventions. While making a donation through the Website, the Donor shall conduct their independent due diligence with respect to any information/project/initiative/intervention listed by the not for profit before making any donations on the Website. Ikigai Portfolio shall not be responsible in any manner for any misrepresentation and/or false information that may be listed on the Website. The Donor should not rely on Ikigai Portfolio or its affiliates for the accuracy, completeness or adequacy of the information supplied on the Website. Moreover, Donors should note that neither Ketto nor any of its affiliates or employees track, represent or warrant that not for profits use the donated funds in the manner and for the purpose represented by them.
In the event a non –profit organisation in India is listed on the website, the Donor shall approach only the particular non- profit organisation in India for which the Donor has donated the money to track the utilisation of the funds or any other information that may be required by the Donor. The Donor hereby agrees and declares that the Donor is aware that Ikigai Portfolio shall at no point of time be held answerable or accountable for any money(s) once the funds donated have been handed over to the non-profit organisation in respect of which donations have been made.
Ikigai Portfolio complies with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) guidelines established by the Reserve Bank of India, vide its circular RPCD.RRB.RCB.AML.BC.No.02/07.51.018/2014-15 on 1 July, 2014 and updated from time to time. The guidelines include, but is not limited to, the following salient conditions:
Every recipient (Crowdfunding Partners/NGO Partners on Ikigai Portfolio) has to verify their identity per the Know Your Customer (KYC) in the guidelines. This will include verification of registered mobile number via a One Time Password (OTP), and one of the identification documents viz. Permanent Account Number, Aadhar Card Number, Passport etc. recognised by the Reserve Bank of India. The list of such registered documents will be updated on Ikigai Portfolio site, at its sole discretion, from time to time.
The verification will be essential to mobilise funds from Ikigai Portfolio platform, and may be asked by Ikigai Portfolio, at its sole discretion, during the course of the Crowdfunding Partner/NGO Partner’s membership on the platform. Failure to comply, may result in cancellation of their membership/registration, and the Crowdfunding Partner/NGO Partner will be liable to return the funds to donors in such a scenario.
The Crowdfunding Partners’/NGO Partners’ location as reflected on their Crowdfunding Partner page must match their legal residence/office that they submit to Ikigai Portfolio when they create an account and while funds are transferred to them from the platform by way of donations. Failure to adequately fulfil stated obligations may result in Ikigai Portfolio removing the Crowdfunding Partner/NGO Partner and seeking reimbursement of funds raised, including by using third-party collections services.
Crowdfunding Partners/NGO Partners are responsible for collecting and remitting any taxes on Contributions, and any taxes due in connection with Crowdfunding Partners/NGO Partners.
All donations on the platform by the Donors are transferred through the payment gateway directly to the Crowdfunding Partners’/NGO Partners’ bank account, as chosen by the Donors. The Crowdfunding Partners/NGO Partners shall be solely responsible for any taxes or regulations related to such contributions. Ikigai Portfolio shall not be liable in any way for any taxes or other regulatory requirements in connection to such contributions.
Taxing authorities may classify funds raised on the Services as taxable income to the Crowdfunding Partner/NGO Partner and any beneficiary who will receive funds directly from the applicable funds mobilised. Ikigai Portfolio will ask for the personal account number / tax identification number (PAN) of Crowdfunding Partners/NGO Partners and any beneficiaries so that it may report taxable income to the relevant taxing authorities.
For contributors on www.ikigaiportfolio.com, only standard channels of payment - verified credit or debit cards, netbanking, cheque, or cash (upto limits allowed by the RBI) - will be allowed. In case of cash payments, all payments above INR 24,999 have to be furnished with the Permanent Account Number of the contributor.
Recipients (Crowdfunding Partners/NGO Partners, whether individuals or organisations) will comply with foreign exchange rules as explained by the Foreign Exchange Management Act of the RBI & FCRA guidelines. The recipient, if an individual or a non-government organisation, also understands that it needs to comply with FCRA guidelines by applying for an FCRA certificate and inform the Central Government in Form FC-1 within thirty days from the date of receipt of such contribution whenever applicable.
The recipients acknowledge and agree that Ikigai Portfolio does not verify this information and it’s the responsibility of the recipient to procure the necessary approvals and do the necessary compliance before they agree to receive foreign funds through the platform. By asking to allow mobilisation of the foreign funds it is understood by Ikigai Portfolio that the recipient has completed the necessary documentation.
AML policies will be updated from time to time at the sole discretion of Ikigai Portfolio.
Users are solely responsible for their interactions with other Ikigai Portfolio Users. Ikigai Portfolio reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor disputes between Users.
Users agree that Ikigai Portfolio may, with or without cause and/or prior notice, immediately terminate the Users’ Ikigai Portfolio account and their access to any Ikigai Portfolio services. Without limiting the foregoing, the following may lead to a termination by Ikigai Portfolio of a User’s use of the its services: (a) breaches or violations of these Terms or other incorporated Ikigai Portfolio agreements or guidelines, (b) requests by law enforcement or other government agencies, (c) a request by the User, (d) unexpected technical issues or problems or (e) extended periods of inactivity.
Termination of a User’s Ikigai portfolio account includes removal of access to all offerings within the Ikigai Portfolio services and may also bar the User from further use of the Ikigai Portfolio services. Furthermore, Users agree that all terminations shall be made at Ikigai Portfolio’s sole discretion and that Ikigai Portfolio shall not be liable to any User nor any third party for any termination of any User account or access to the Ikigai Portfolio service.
By using the Site, Users consent to receive from Ikigai Portfolio, all communications including notices, agreements, legally required disclosures, or other information in connection with the Site (collectively, “Contract Notices”) electronically. Ikigai Portfolio may provide the electronic Contract Notices by posting them on the Site. If any Users desire to withdraw their consent to receive Contract Notices electronically, they must discontinue their use of the Site. Granting membership to any not for profit will be at the sole discretion of Ikigai Portfolio and it may choose not to grant membership to any not for profit irrespective of whether or not it meets the selection criteria and/or passes its due diligence.
